German company CONTACT Software donates software worth 3 million Euro to Taiwan Tech

The German software company CONTACT Software, the world's leading supplier of  engineering software for smart manufacturing and the Internet of Things, donated software worth 3 million Euro to Taiwan Tech.
The agreement was signed during the "International Forum on Network Manufacturing", held at Taiwan Tech on 22 November 2019, where experts from Germany, Italy, Indonesia and several other countries gathered to discuss the latest developments in Industry 4.0.
The software donated by CONTACT software will be mainly used for teaching purposes. Taiwan Tech students will be able to familiarize themselves with a state-of-the-art engineering software, thus fulfilling industry’s demands for industry 4.0 talent. 
Chung-Hsien Kuo, Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Director of the NTUST Center for Cyber-physical System Innovation ( CPSi ) said that industry-academia cooperation was essential to cultivate talents for innovative smart manufacturing systems. Graduates will need hardware as well as software knowledge, and will have to be able to understand cross-disciplinary problems.
Through the donation by CONTACT software, students can be trained in the use of an advanced software at an early stage, which will certainly accelerate the development of Taiwan's IoT industry.
