
The 2026 Asia University Rankings released by “Times Higher Education” (THE) have placed Taiwan Tech 86th in Asia and fifth among all universities in Taiwan, maintaining its position as the top vocational and technical university in the country.

According to the latest THE rankings, Taiwan Tech demonstrated notable progress in several key performance indicators. Its score in the “Research Environment” category increased from 45.7 to 46.1, while its “Industry” score rose significantly from 95.0 to 97.8, reflecting continued recognition of the university’s strengths in research resources, academic development, and industry engagement.
In the past year, Taiwan Tech has expanded collaborations with leading domestic and international companies, including GPTC, AMD, Siemens, Wisdom, Acon Holding Inc., and JPC Connectivity. These partnerships focus on advancing cutting-edge technologies and cultivating high-level technical talent in fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, high-performance computing, high-speed transmission technologies, and silicon photonics. Through joint investment in research and development resources, the establishment of industry-oriented curricula, and the creation of collaborative research platforms, these partnerships have strengthened students’ ability to connect with industry needs while enhancing the university’s capacity to translate research outcomes into practical technological applications.

The THE Asia University Rankings evaluate institutions across five major dimensions: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook, and Industry. Taiwan Tech recorded improvements in both the Research Environment and Industry categories compared with the previous year.
This year, 14 Taiwanese universities were ranked among the top 200 institutions in Asia, with six universities placing within the top 100:
Taiwan Tech has consistently maintained its leadership position within Taiwan’s technological and vocational higher education system. Its inclusion among Asia’s top 100 universities alongside several of Taiwan’s leading research universities demonstrates that technology-focused higher education institutions can compete successfully on the international stage.
The 2026 THE Asia University Rankings evaluated 929 universities from 36 countries and territories across Asia. Institutions were assessed using 18 performance indicators covering the five major dimensions of teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry engagement, making the ranking one of the most influential higher education assessments in the region.
