
The “Taiwan Tech HR Alumni Networking Dinner 2026”, jointly initiated by Dr. Ying-Jung Yeh, Vice President for International Affairs at Taiwan Tech, and distinguished Taiwan Tech alumnus Alex Hsu, General Manager of MGR Consulting Co., Ltd. was held on April 11 at Hotel Metropolitan Premier Taipei. The event attracted more than 70 Taiwan Tech alumni working in human resources across various industries. In addition to strengthening alumni ties, the gathering served as an important platform for exchanging insights on career development and HR practices.

A special retirement tribute ceremony was held in honor of Professor Jen-Wei Cheng, recognizing his decades of dedication to human resource management education and his outstanding contributions to nurturing generations of management professionals. During the event, Professor Cheng encouraged HR professionals to embrace continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly changing workplace, citing a famous saying from Laozi: “To understand others is wisdom; to understand oneself is enlightenment”.

The networking dinner also featured keynote speeches from both academic and industry perspectives, providing participants with diverse viewpoints on current HR issues. Dr. Ying-Jung Yeh, Vice President for International Affairs and Professor of Human Resource Management in Taiwan Tech’s Department of Business Administration, delivered a keynote speech titled “Opportunities and Challenges of Localizing International Talent”. She provided an in-depth analysis of the key issues organizations face when recruiting and retaining international professionals. Dr. Yeh noted that Taiwan Tech recognized the challenges posed by declining birth rates more than two decades ago and has long been committed to internationalization, cultivating foreign professionals with strong cross-cultural competencies. As industries continue to expand globally, helping international talent overcome cultural barriers and integrate into local organizations has become one of the most critical responsibilities of HR professionals today.

Distinguished alumnus Alex Hsu, General Manager of MGR Consulting Co., Ltd., together with Deputy General Manager Cheng-Chi Peng, SPIL Chief Administrative Officer Kun-Yi Chien, and faculty members specializing in human resource management from Taiwan Tech’s Department of Business Administration, expressed their appreciation to Professor Jen-Wei Cheng (center) for his invaluable contributions.
Alex Hsu also delivered a keynote address entitled “Preparing for HR Careers and Globalization Challenges in 2026”. Drawing upon MGR Consulting Co., Ltd.’s long-term survey data and industry observations, he presented the latest 2026 talent trends report, covering key issues such as demographic shifts and workforce competency transformation in the era of artificial intelligence. The report’s forward-looking perspectives and practical insights provided valuable strategic references for HR professionals and received enthusiastic responses from participants.

The event was fully organized by MGR Consulting Co., Ltd., an Taiwan Tech alumni-founded enterprise.
