Congratulations! Taiwan Building Technology Center won the Most Outstanding of National Golden Award for Public Works Construction

    Taiwan Building Technology Center at NTUST (dubbed the Sailboat Building on NTUST campus) is noted not only for the uniqueness of its structure and the beauty of its form but also for the difficulty of construction. The teamwork among the school's management, the supervisors & designers, and the construction group made it possible for the building to be completed with expected quality and inaugurated on March as scheduled. The best quality of construction prompted the Ministry of Education to recommend the Sailboat Building to be entered as a candidate for the Centennial Golden Award for Public Works Construction sponsored by Public Construction Commission of Executive Yuan. As expected the beautiful building was granted the Golden Award again after it had won the top medals of 12th National Golden Award for Architecture and the special award for the nation's Outstanding Construction Works 2011. The committee members of the Award praises the building for its dedication to disaster prevention, use of green building materials, energy saving & environmental protection efforts, open building related patents and R&D results. Currently the building houses the awards won by students and faculty members of the College of Design. It also serves as the experiment building for research related to architecture and construction engineering.
