NTUST announced today that its Graduate Institute of Management is teaming up with III (Institute for Information Industry) to start a brand-new MBA program aiming to train talents in both service innovation and design. No written entrance exam is needed to be admitted to the new program, which includes double tracks on globalization business administration and service innovation & design.

Dean of NTUST’s Graduate Institute of Management, Dr. Lu Hsi-peng, said that an MBA program concentrated mainly on service innovation and design is the first in Taiwan’s business administration programs that is designed by a university and an R&D organization. The program’s training would place equal emphasis on science, industry, and methodology, with a goal to help restructure the development of Taiwan’s industries from OEM-based to more innovative initiatives which is expected to have a much higher profit rate for Taiwan’s industries.

Dr. Lu indicated that the core courses of the new service innovation & design MBA program are essentially based on III’s Service Experience Engineering (SEE), a program oriented towards innovation application and service design. The design of the new MBA program is actually the brain child of a group of III’s experts in trend studies, services & application value chains, service experience engineering together with scholars with expertise in service innovation and design.

Dean Lu expressed his confidence in that with the diversified training, the program should be able to equip students with different skills in various fields such as service innovation design, service application integration, and innovative management and with keen business awareness as well as great design senses.

The new MBA program is scheduled to begin in the academic year of 2012. It will recruit university graduates with more than two years of work experience. Both the concentration of globalization business management and that of service innovation & design are expected to admit 15 students respectively.
