• From now on, all study abroad and exchange activies will be cancelled.
• Teacher who travel abraod shall be strictly reviewed.
• Students, faculty and staff are forbidden from entering our campus within 14 days of returning from overseas.
• Any violation of our epidemic prevention measures will be considered as a direct threat to the safety of Tawian Tech's members and will be penalized.

• Foreign students who intend to enroll at NTUST MUST NOT transit in Italy, The Republic of Korea, China, Hong Kong, or Macau. Students who travelled to Taiwan via Italy, The Republic of Korea, China, Hong Kong, or Macau, will be denied enrollment at Taiwan Tech in spring semester 2020.

• In response to the widening of the coronavirus emergency, Taiwan Tech requires all staff and students returning to Taiwan from overseas (any country) to wear a surgical face mask on campus for a period of two weeks after their return. This rule applies to all who have returned or will return to Taiwan after 25 February 2020.

• Foreign students who intend to enroll at NTUST MUST NOT transit in China, Hong Kong, or Macau. Students who travelled to Taiwan via China, Hong Kong or Macau, will be denied enrollment at Taiwan Tech in spring semester 2020. 

• A fine of NTD 10,000 to NTD 150,000 will be imposed on students who violate home quarantine regulations by going out or taking public transportation, according to the 'Communicable Disease Control Act' Article No. 58 and Article No. 69.
• Foreigners who transit flight from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau will be prohibited from entering Taiwan. 

• Foreigners who transit flight from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau will be prohibited from entering Taiwan. 
• Foreigners who have visited or have been living on the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau over the past 14 days will be barred from entering Taiwan beginning on 7 February.

Enrollment and study dates

To prevent the spread of the pneumonia epidemic caused by the deadly novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and in line with the national policy of epidemic prevention, Taiwan Tech decided to postpone the beginning of the 2020 Spring Semester by two weeks to March 2, 2020, to secure sufficient time for preparing anti-epidemic measures. To minimize the impact of the delay and to ensure students' right to education, Taiwan Tech will modify course-related regulations and rules accordingly. New Students who plan to enroll at Taiwan Tech this spring semester request to read the following information carefully:

• New Semester start: March 2nd
• February 12th orientation day: Cancelled. The information provided on orientation day will be replaced by a video clip which we will provide shortly. At the moment we have not yet received further information regarding the selection of courses or the new semester schedule. Once the information is announced by the school, we will update the info on this page. As the beginning of the semester is postponed, we recommend to re-schedule your flights and arrive in Taiwan later than originally planned.

• Registration / enrollment period: 

​- International degree students: from February 12th - 14th.  If you will arrive in Taiwan later due to changes of your travel plans, you may complete enrollment procedures no later than March 6th. Please note you will need to apply for the Alien Resident Certificate within 15 days after entering Taiwan.

- If you are a newly-admitted international degree student and you do not think you will be able to be on campus to join your classes because you have visited or resided in Mainland China, you could apply to defer your studies in spring semester 2020 and begin at fall semester 2020. Please submit your defer request by emailing the relevant documents to prove your travel history to admission@mail.ntust.edu.tw before 6 March. If you hold a NTUST Scholasrhip and defer your studies because of the above reason, your scholarship payments will be on hold until you start when you enroll.

- International exchange student: from February 26th until March 11th. More details will be given later.

Travel advice

• If you already have a visa: Please double-check with the Taiwan representative office in your home country whether your visa is still valid under the given situation.
• If you already have a visa and plan to enter Taiwan via mainland China, you will NOT be allowed to enter Taiwan. Please re-schedule your flight.
• If you are eligible for Taiwan visa-free entry to Taiwan: Please do NOT fly via mainland China because you will NOT be allowed to enter Taiwan.

Health advice

• In Taiwan most people wear surgical face masks in public areas and at work as a preventive measure. As there is a shortage of masks due to the heavy demand, you are asked to  buy masks before you departure to Taiwan.
