President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Lai Ching-te recognized his achievement with congratulatory messages.

From the preliminary round, Lei Feng-yue has spent three years improving himself until the international competition. He overcame all the mental pressure, and finally succeeded in the competition. At the awards ceremony, his joy is beyond words. “I am very surprised, I thought I didn't stand a chance against them,” Lei responded to the press. The humble winner also thanked Wang Xi-quan, the judge, and the professors for their guidance and trust in him. “Thanks to all the people I met, I achieved my goal. I feel proud and thankful.”

Lei has taken part in Taiwan’s National Skills Competition for 4 times. His experience and performance are both impressive as a competitor. Now, he is a 23-year-old student at Taiwan Tech. He switched his path from general machinery and industrial machinery maintenance to prototype modeling because of his love for Gundam and war tanks models. Designing, modeling and turning creativity into reality are his specialty and his passion.
