Taiwan Tech's jobfair sets a new record with 300 booths and 15,000 job openings for top talents.

On March 28th, the Campus Recruitment and Internship Expo of Taiwan Tech kicked off! This event featured 215 recruiting companies, reaching a new high with 300 booths and offering over 15,000 job opportunities across various fields including electronics technology, financial services, manufacturing, construction, professional services, science, and technology. Many renowned listed companies such as TSMC, LITE-ON Technology, Taiwan International Avionics Garmin, ASML, and alumni-owned enterprises like the outstanding performance of International Games System Co., Ltd., and AAEON, participated in this fair, actively recruiting top talents in the scientific and technological sector.

Approximately 12% of Taiwan Tech's students are international students, with the number of foreign research students ranking the highest nationwide. In an effort to actively recruit outstanding foreign talents, about 33 companies including Pegatron, D-Link, Chyi Ding Technologies, Micro Technology and power supply giant Delta Electronics, and Foxconn provided job openings for foreigners. In particular, they posted foreign recruitment sign stickers at the venue to attract foreign students.

To deepen job seekers' first impressions and enhance professionalism, LITE-ON Technology placed its booth directly next to its branded exhibition vehicle for the first time this year. This effectively showcased LITE-ON's expertise in optoelectronics, cloud and IoT, information, and electronics consumption. In his speech, HR Director Bang-Heng Liu pointed out that nearly 24% of research and development substitute personnel in the past two years came from Taiwan Tech. Since 2005, they have cooperated in training hundreds of graduates for important positions at LITE-ON Technology through joint programs. LITE-ON Technology will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, transitioning from a behind-the-scenes component manufacturer to a provider of comprehensive solutions. All these transformative changes rely on talent to be achieved step by step.

Wei-Xu Fu, Vice President and General Manager of Garmin's Asia-Pacific manufacturing and operations center, a global leader in satellite navigation and smart wearables, mentioned that Garmin has established a smart factory that uses AI and diverse technological capabilities to control and adjust the global production system while providing localized support to worldwide locations. As a global base, in response to the Global Smart Manufacturing Service (GSMS) project, Garmin has opened up various positions such as display and optical engineering, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing engineering at Taiwan Tech, etc., releasing over a hundred internship positions as well. They also plan to focus on overseas markets, emphasizing the recruitment of both local and international talents.

President Jia-Yush Yen of Taiwan Tech stated that the university is an internationally recognized applied research university with a focus on technological innovation and industrial applications. Its research and development capabilities are highly valued by industries. Taiwan Tech students are known for their reliability, practicality, and hands-on experience, enabling them to quickly integrate into the workforce after graduation. Taiwan Tech will align with industry trends and focus on developing talents in the fields of electric vehicles and automotive semiconductor equipment, with materials and equipment as key areas of talent cultivation.

Bing-Xuan Lu, a first-year master's student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Taiwan Tech, said that he went to intern in traditional industries when he was in college. In the future, he hopes to start his career as an engineer in Taiwanese factories and then gradually seek opportunities for international work. Therefore, during his academic years, he has taken courses relevant to his career goals to enhance his professional knowledge and language skills, preparing himself to tackle future challenges with resilience and problem-solving abilities.

Wei-Xuan Zhu, a junior in the Department of Business Administration, is double majoring in Finance and plans to intern at a bank. She believes that internships will help improve her professional skills and provide insight into whether the banking industry aligns with her interests. Through recruitment events, she seeks to gain information about banking and internship opportunities, preparing herself for future employment.

Hisyam, an Indonesian fourth-year doctoral student in the Department of Industrial Management at Taiwan Tech, plans to continue working in Taiwan after graduation and is currently searching for internship opportunities. To achieve this, he has selected courses relevant to the current job market, such as data analysis, project management, international business innovation, and global logistics management. He also actively participates in activities related to sustainable development goals and online international business cooperation. Additionally, he pays close attention to LinkedIn to gather information and confirm companies' actual situations regarding innovation and employee interaction.
