Taiwan Tech Thailand Alumni Unite: First in-person Bangkok gathering strengthens connections and collaboration.[28 Oct. 2025]

The Taiwan Tech Thailand Alumni Association held its “2025 Annual Meeting and President Handover Ceremony” in Bangkok on October 18. This marked the first in-person annual meeting since the association’s founding in 2020, making it a highly significant event. The gathering attracted over 100 alumni and distinguished guests and included company visits and keynote lectures, fostering stronger connections and collaboration between Taiwan Tech alumni in Thailand and their alma mater.

The Taiwan Tech Thailand Alumni Association was established during the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside the Vietnam and Singapore alumni chapters, initially operating online. Over five years of development and experience accumulation, it has gradually built a stable organization and a vibrant networking platform. The annual meeting specially invited Taiwan Tech Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou and Chief Secretary Yu-Lin Kuo to lead the university delegation. Accompanying them were distinguished guests including Taiwan Tech Alumni Association Honorary Chairman Chien-Wei Chen, former chairman Heng-Shou Hsu, and Vice Chairman Han-Wei Chen. Representatives from alumni chapters in East and South China also traveled to join the event, creating a lively and warm atmosphere.

The Taiwan Tecg delegation paid a special visit to Tayih Kenmos Auto Parts Co., Ltd. a professional automotive components manufacturer. Mechanical engineering alumnus Tsung-Min Ye, the factory director, shared insights on the company’s development and business strategies and guided the delegation on a tour of the facility. Attendees observed production processes for automotive hollow-molded exterior components and filter materials, showcasing the technical expertise and innovative applications of Taiwanese enterprises in Thailand’s manufacturing industry.

The annual meeting also featured a diverse range of talks. Taiwan Tech Chief Secretary Yu-Lin Kuo presented on the practical applications of atmospheric pressure plasma technology across engineering, biomedical engineering, energy, agriculture, and the circular economy, showcasing Taiwan Tech’s innovative achievements in green technology and receiving enthusiastic responses. Thai electric vehicle industry expert Dr. Thongvhai Jinaphan delivered a presentation titled “Current Status and Outlook of the Thai Electric Vehicle Market,” providing an in-depth analysis of local industry trends and policy directions, fostering greater understanding and discussion among attendees on this emerging sector.

Since welcoming its first Thai international student in 2001, Taiwan Tech has steadily deepened educational exchanges with Thailand, and to date has nearly 200 Thai alumni, with increasing numbers developing their careers in Thailand. The Taiwan Tech Thailand Alumni Association, founded by Industrial Management alumnus Chien-Yu Ko, aims to strengthen connections among alumni in Thailand and promote resource sharing. During this year’s annual meeting, the association also held its presidential handover ceremony, with Management Research Institute alumnus Wen-Hsiang Liu assuming the role of new president to continue advancing the association’s development and services. Vice President Tzu-Chuan Chou presented a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the university to founding president Chien-Yu Ko, recognizing his years of dedication in establishing the Thailand Alumni Association and building a bridge for alumni networking and business collaboration.

Newly appointed Vice Secretary-General and Information Management alumnus Kritsapas K. stated that he will work closely with the new president to provide lifestyle support and business consultation for Thai Taiwan Tech students and alumni living in Thailand. They plan to connect the needs of Taiwanese alumni with the expertise of Thai alumni and organize international events to foster interaction with other organizations, injecting new energy into Taiwan Tech’s global alumni network and strengthening both alumni bonds and the university’s international influence.

The inaugural in-person annual meeting concluded successfully, enhancing interactions among local and overseas alumni and reconnecting many Thai alumni with Taiwan Tech. As the global alumni network continues to expand, Taiwan Tech will keep collaborating with alumni associations worldwide to promote international exchange, deepen ties with industries and academia, and advance vocational education and sustainable development.
