2011/11/30

Design Department did it again. They set another record of winning the most awards from Red Dot Design Award by a single school. Red Dot Design Concept Award announced the final winners of the 2011 competition and NTUST won 20 of the awards granted. It's a new record for a single school to have such a convincing win. In this year, over 3,500 design works from 49 countries and areas were entered and 296 of them were honored. Red Dot Design Award is one of the four most prestigious awards in the design world, with iF of Germany, IDEA of US, and G-Mark in Japan as the other three.  Among the 20 NTUST winners, Fruit Crayon and Little Explorer were awarded as Best of the Best.

Behind the overwhelming victory, students' advisors are the real heroes who kept pushing them to think more and work harder. They are Profs. Cheng Jin-Dean, Tung Fang-Wu, Chang Wen-Chih, Fan Jeng-Neng, Chen Chien-Hsiung and Liang Rung-Huei. They set a good example of how to balance between research and doing creative work and navigate across disciplines.
