Hung Shih-Chieh from NTUST is a winner at ISFFH

Hung Shih-Chieh, a student from NTUST Department of Industrial and Commercial Design, won the Best Foreign Language Animation Award at the 11th International Student Film Festival Hollywood with the film "Pocket Watch" .

The International Student Film Festival Hollywood accepted submission for its 11th annual Film and Video Competition and it was open to students of all ages and academic backgrounds. The awards include Best Drama, Best Documentary, Best Animation and Best Music Video.

"Pocket Watch", directed by Hung from National Taiwan University of Science, won The Best Foreign Animation Award. "Pocket Watch" is a film of 7 minutes long about collection of antiques.  The watch in the film was given to the owner by his father. He kept the watch until the end of his life when he was a casualty of a war. The watch accompanied him throughout his marriage and fatherhood. It was handed to his wife and then to his son after his death. When the son is winding the watch, it brings back the memory of scenes when the father and the son were together.

Apparently the film "Pocket Watch" is trying to tell us which one outlasts the other, the antique artifact or the collector.
