Taiwan Tech and the Bureau Français de Taipei (BFT) signed a memorandum of understanding for a scholarship program to encourage more students to pursue further studies in France. Each year, the program offers scholarships for up to twelve Taiwan Tech students to join student exchange or double-degree programs in one of our partner schools in France. The scholarships also include the reduction or exemption of visa fees and insurance coverage during their stay in France.

The program aims to promote excellent engineering and science training French universities with students at Taiwan’s best engineering universities.
Jean-François Casabonne-Masonnave, Director of the BFT, emphasized that France was hoping to intensify academic exchanges with Taiwan Tech, including staff visits, lectures, joint laboratory projects, and French -Taiwan academia-industry collaboration.

The new agreement builds on an exchange program that Taiwan Tech signed with French counterparts in 2013, which was then the first scholarship program that BFT had established with a university in Taiwan. Until today, this program has supported more than twenty students in their pursuit of further studies in France.

As an additional attraction, the new program also offers a free ticket per year to encourage more outstanding students to study in France for a short period of time or for a degree program.
